The Kentucky Tourism Council - Building Partnerships For Success
Tourism is one of America’s fastest growing industries. Whether you work directly with the traveling public or your clients are in the tourism profession, you need lasting partnerships to help you meet the challenge of this fast-paced business. Kentucky Tourism Council can help you leverage limited time and resources to successfully reach your long-term goals.

Ask yourself two questions:

What if
you belonged to one association that offered valuable partnerships for marketing and professional development – plus opportunities to learn about the latest industry trends?

What if that association also worked on your behalf to affect positive change in important legislative and governmental issues?

The answer to both questions is simple. There is one Kentucky association that offers all this – The Kentucky Tourism Council. Through its full-time professional staff and statewide network of volunteers stretching from Paducah to Pikeville, Covington to Williamsburg and all points in between, the Kentucky Tourism Council gives its members the partnerships they need to get their fair share of Kentucky’s $9.1 billion travel economy.

Membership Benefits

Education
The Kentucky Tourism Council provides cutting-edge educational sessions featuring nationally and regionally respected speakers at its quarterly meetings, Tourism Development Symposium and Kentucky Tourism Industry Annual Conference.

Graduates of Kentucky Tourism Professional Certificate Program gain a valuable edge in career advancement. By attending special classes taught by industry professionals and participating in educational sessions, members can receive a Kentucky Tourism Professional Certificate or become an Advanced Tourism Management Professional.

Marketing Opportunities
Through its Meeting Planners Guide to Kentucky, members have the opportunity to market their meeting sites to meeting planners from across Kentucky as well as the Southeast and Midwest.

You can also contact KTC staff about advertising in the Official Visitor's Guide to Kentucky published by the Kentucky Department of Tourism.

Members gain statewide media attention for area events through KTC’s Top Ten Festivals & Events program. An impartial panel of experts select the “Top Ten” for each season. The winners receive statewide media attention and a listing in Kentucky Monthly.

Every KTC member has an Internet presence on the Council’s highly visited web site www.tourky.com.

Members can promote their business or community in KTC’s booth at one of the Kentucky State Fair’s busiest locations and save thousands of dollars on advertising costs through KTC’s Annual Media Auction.

Networking – The Kentucky Tourism Council provides a productive environment in which to grow your business. Meeting industry counterparts at KTC’s big annual conference, quarterly meetings and educational seminars gives you a chance to share marketing ideas and build productive business relationships.

Communication
Kentucky Tourism Council members can access Kentucky Tourism Council eNews, a Web page full of news and information about programs and events.

Members also receive the most up-to-date reporting on legislative issues via the e-mail Legislative Viewpoint.

One of the most valuable benefits is the online KTC Membership Directory an easy to access source to the name, address, phone number and e-mail for important industry contacts.

Governmental Relations
The Kentucky Tourism Council is the industry’s advocate in Frankfort. A full-time staff and team of dedicated volunteers work on behalf of the membership to build sound working relationships and affect positive change. By providing a vital link to various departments of state government, the Council acts as a clearinghouse for important information on funding sources, technical assistance and other resources. The Council’s legislative agent tracks important pieces of legislation and works to see that laws are made that work for Kentucky’s tourism industry.

Member-to-Member Discounts
The KTC Member-to-Member Discount program is a great way to enjoy deep discounts at some of Kentucky’s premier attractions, hotels and motor inns. It’s a Win-Win deal—but you have to be a member to participate!
